There remains no trace of the old church preacher. A small shrine, made of planks and sheets, was built in the late seventeenth century or early eighteenth, enlarged in 1860 and tiled by Abbot Bertaud in 1887-1888. The eruption of 1902 which ravaged the building is replaced by a small wooden chapel whose facade was considered original. In 1930 the church of Byzantine architecture designed by Rene Dantin is built under the town of Ashton Tardon. The Charles TRICLOT fresco painted in the 1940s deteriorated, she was replaced by Grasselly father, pastor of the parish from 1953 to 1954. Today, the St. Joseph Parish is headed by Father Christian AINE . The altar is unique. Made of marble in one piece, is decorated with sculptures in the manner of the seventeenth century. It is now in the new church preacher. This is one of the most elders of the island Saint-Pierre and Case-Pilote.
