ISMH (listed in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments) jewel architectural, built according to the plans of Henri Picq, the building is first introduced in 1889 to Paris. Disassembled and transported by boat to Fort of France, it houses a collection of works donated by Victor Schoelcher, politician French, acquired to the abolitionist cause in the Colonies French in the 19th century as early as 1893.
